FORMATION GATHERINGS
FORMATION AT ALL SOULS
Our formation offerings invite us to learn how to live our faith in ordinary life and how to become more fully human as we grow in the way of Jesus. These special classes and workshops flow from our Rule of Life: attentiveness to Christ, generous hospitality, restoration, and shalom. Whether we’re exploring Scripture, deepening in prayer, practicing listening, or learning to serve our neighbors, each offering helps us attend to God’s presence and cooperate with God’s renewing work in us and in the world.
-
Formation is for everyone. We aim to remove barriers, whether financial, physical, or otherwise, that might keep someone from participating. Many offerings are free, and scholarships are always available when there is a cost. Our spaces and schedules are designed with families, working adults, and those with differing abilities in mind. If you need an accommodation, we will work with you so that you can fully take part in the life we share.
-
We believe that the Body of Christ is wide and diverse, and that the table of Jesus is large enough to hold difference. Our formation spaces honor that diversity of theology, story, and experience. Guided by our theological postures, we are creedal (rooted in the faith of the Church), diverse (welcoming a range of perspectives), sacramental (trusting God’s presence among us), curious (asking honest questions), and humble (seeking to bend our lives toward Jesus).
-
Formation at All Souls is not just about learning new ideas; it is about living a new way of being. Each offering invites both reflection and embodied practice: prayer that moves into action, study that shapes compassion, and learning that leads to service. We trust that transformation happens through participation, not performance.
-
We learn best when we learn together. Formation happens in circles, not rows, through conversation, shared meals, prayer, and friendship. Our offerings are meant to nurture belonging and remind us that growing in Christ is a communal work.
-
Because God is making all things new, we pursue formation that attends to the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Our offerings invite rest and restoration alongside learning and service, trusting that God’s desire is to make us more fully alive.escription
UPCOMING OFFERINGS
Living the Jesus-Centered Life: A Journey into Our Rule of Life
As we prepare for Rule of Life Affirmation Sunday at All Souls (November 16), join us for a four-week class exploring the heart of our shared Rule. Over the course of these four weeks we will explore why we live it, how it shapes us, and what it means to walk in the way of Jesus. We’ll reflect on the deep foundations of obedience, hospitality, restoration, and shalom. Each session will blend Scripture, conversation, and practical ways to live out our commitments in daily life.
Whether you're new to All Souls or have affirmed this Rule for years, this class invites you to reimagine life with God, life with one another, and life for the sake of the world.
MOTHER: Encountering the life of Mary through art & word
This Advent, join us for a one-time gathering that invites us to linger with Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Through a weaving together of visual art and carefully chosen words, we’ll reflect on her story and the ways her faith, courage, and surrender continue to shape our own. This contemplative offering creates space to slow down in the season of waiting, opening our hearts to the mystery of God made flesh.
