Living the Jesus Centered Life

EXPLORING OUR RULE OF LIFE

Class Zoom Link

Session 1

In this session, we explore why a Rule of Life matters by looking to St. Benedict, who sought stability and love in a world of collapse. We learn that a Rule is not a list of rules but a rhythm that helps us live with attentiveness to Christ, to ourselves, and to others. Through story, liturgy, and reflection, we began to see how our shared life at All Souls can form us into a people who practice presence, hospitality, restoration, and peace in the ordinary rhythms of our days.

  • The teaching outlines will be uploaded after each class.

  • The Living the Liturgy practice invites us to see our worship as a pattern for daily life. Each movement of the liturgy—gathering, listening, responding, receiving, and being sent—teaches us how to live our Rule of Life with attentiveness, hospitality, restoration, and shalom. It is a way of carrying the rhythm of Sunday into the ordinary moments of the week so that every part of life becomes a place of encounter with God.

Session 2

In this session, we turn to the movement of our Rule that invites us to live as people being restored by God. Because the Gospel renews everything, beginning with the awakening of our own hearts, we will reflect on what it means to open ourselves to the healing work of God in mind, body, and soul. Through Scripture, prayer, and shared reflection, we will explore how restoration is both a personal renewal and a participation in God’s ongoing work of making all things new.

Session 3

In this session, we turn to the movement of our Rule that calls us to join God’s work of bringing shalom. Because the Kingdom of God rules over everything, we will explore what it means to live as people sent to seek the peace, justice, and flourishing of our homes, our city, and the world. Through prayer, conversation, and practice, we will consider how our daily lives can become places where the wholeness of God’s Kingdom is made visible.
