In the spring 2016, we gathered for the first time as an entire community for 2 days away. We rested, ate, prayed, shared and played. This will be an annual rhythm, and we keep the location close enough for an easy drive from Charlottesville.
All Souls Church Retreat 2017
Eagle Eyrie Camp
Friday – Saturday: June 9-10
Life with the Good Shepherd
Creating space for encountering God as our Good Shepherd, Brendan Jamieson, All Souls’ worship pastor, will lead a time of intimate worship and reflection. Miska Collier, a spiritual director, and Katie Jamieson, a healing prayer minister, will guide the remainder of our time.
Our time together will be thoughtful, personal, spacious, prayerful, and filled with laughter. Our hope is that as we meet with God and with one another that our hearts will be opened anew, our mind illuminated and our life with God reinvigorated.
What is the Cost Per Person?
Adult (8+): $90
Child (3-8): $45
Baby (0-2): FREE
You can register online.
We are raising funds to help subsidize the cost for those with special financial circumstances as well as to keep the maximum family cost to $250 (the actual cost is more) so all can attend. Please let us know if you are able to help others attend, and please let us know if we can help with your registration fee. We want you to come.
What About Lodging & Food?
Our rooms will be in a comfortable hotel-like lodge. All meals will be provided.
Where Will It Be and How Long Will It Be?
Our retreat will be at Eagle Eyrie Camp, a conference facility tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains and enjoying panoramic view. Eagle Eyrie sits just outside Lynchburg, Virginia. We plan to arrive by 3:00 on Friday and will depart after dinner Saturday evening.
What Kind of Activities Will We Have Access To?
In addition to beautiful mountains and space for conversations and leisure, Eagle Eyrie offers a prayer labyrinth, a large pool with water slide, basketball, volleyball, softball, hiking trails, disc golf course, bonfire pit and a playground.
What Do I Bring?
All linens will be provided. We’d encourage you to bring a Bible, a sketch pad or journal (if you like to write as you ponder), flashlight, sunscreen, insect repellant, swimming suit and water bottle.
Each fall, the women of All Souls get away for a night or two away. Our time together is spent hearing from each other and hearing from God, hanging out together and spending some quiet time alone, napping or hiking (or both).
